Enjoy the warm sun of Hawai’i right here in the Southeast.    Kaleo would like to invite you to enjoy a unique island cultural experience featuring two ancient forms of storytelling unique to the Hawaiian Islands.   Through their “talk story” and their Hula, she will take you on a tropical journey back in time from ancient to modern Hawai’i.  Talk story is just informal talking and sharing.  Hula is the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people.  It is their living history, telling their myths and legends, stories and values through traditional songs, chants and music accompanied by dance.

Kaleo shares her Hawaiian Storytelling at weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, retirement homes,  casual backyard luaus as well as at church, corporate and school events. Her stories, authentic costumes and island music will have you feeling like you are in Hawai’i.
During the event, audience members are encouraged to participate in learning a hula.  if they are too shy or unable to get up, that is no reason they still can't learn a little hula. The storytelling of ha'a hula is with the arms and hands, and anyone can do that, even sitting. This is always a fun part of the experience and enhances the enjoyment for everyone there, whether they are participating or watching. Kaleo often has several of her advanced students (Haumana) joining her. You will experience a memorable party that your guests will enjoy and will always remember.

Kaleo has studied with traditional master teachers (Kumu Hula) both on the mainland and in Hawai'i since 1989. Her teachers include: Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, Aloha Dalire, and Uncle George Na'ope.  She has also been a member of two halua's (traditional schools of Hula). One was on Kaua'i and the other in St. Petersburg FL.  She is delighted to bring her knowledge and expertise to the Southeast US.
