Saturday, May 26, 2018 1:00pm - 4:00pm Fee: $45 (includes words, translation and mp3 of the music)
An Introductory workshop for the new student. An opportunity to learn the history of Hula as sacred dance, the basic Hula steps, hand movements, the Hawaiian words and terminology used in Hula and the basics of the Hawaiian culture, including Living the Aloha Spirit. A simple Hula will be taught. This workshops is also a prerequisite before moving into the ongoing weekly classes.
Location: The River House near Emma Cudd Road and Whitestone/Glendale Road, East Spartanburg.

Tuesday Evening Traditional Hula Classes Sacred Dance and Ancient Storytelling 6:15pm to 7:45pm Monthly Fee includes Four 1 1/2 hour classes, words, translation, mp3 and teaching about the culture of Hawai'i through the story of the hula being taught

A regular practice of chanting with these ancient words and sacred sounds affects us physically as well as spiritually. It can elicit the relaxation response, reduce stress, sharpen mental clarity, open and expand all of our senses, and help support our overall health and wellness.

Whether you are an experienced singer or the person who was asked not to sing in the class play, you can share in the wonder and power of chant. It is not "singing. It is about breath, heart and Spirit—and we all come full equipped to participate.
